John D. Huston as Charles Dickens in A Christmas Carol

John D. Huston as Charles Dickens in A Christmas Carol
Wednesday December 7, 7pm
St. Cuthbert's Church, 1399 Bayview Avenue

Written in 1843, A CHRISTMAS CAROL is a seasonal classic and a treasure of English literature. Few people know that Dickens also wrote and performed a solo theatrical version of his famous story for many years. Now you can experience the laughter, tears and joy of the original with John D. Huston as Charles Dickens.

Huston’s lovingly authentic reproduction of Dickens’ performances, developed from Dickens’ own script and working notes, evokes the magic of a Christmas Past. Huston’s astonishing
tour de force presentation has played to full houses even in the middle of summer. His
remarkable performance has been described as “mesmerizing”, “powerful” and “Christmas magic” by reviewers and audiences across the country.

“A Christmas Carol is powerful one-man theatre ... in the hands of a master storyteller.”
The National Post

“Absolutely fabulous ... brings the work to life, reproducing ... all of the characters”
CBC Radio Ottawa
